April 2007 was a fantastic opportunity for members of the Ballochleam Highland Dancers, as they departed for the United States of America, Branson Missourri to be precise.

As we arrived in Branson we caught a glimpse of our new home for the next five weeks. Silver Dollar City is in the heart of the Ozark Mountain range and is one of America's top theme parks. However for 5 weeks in the year Silver Dollar City opens its doors to World Fest and invites dancers and musicians from six continents of the world to join together to exchange and share cultures and traditions.

Ballochleam Highland Dancers were honoured to be part of World fest this year with musicians from Scotland, the folk group Beggars Row. While at World fest we performed three shows a day, for 5 days a week with only two days off each week to catch up on washing the outfits and sight seeing. On many of the days we did not perform we were taken as guests of the festival sight seeing around Branson and my favourite trip was a cruise on Table Top Mountain on the Branson Belle Showboat.
